2022 Award Winners

  • 3-D Modeling, Bringing Designs to Life

    Students in the STEM: Design and Modeling class design things like key chains, puzzles, and therapeutic toys. With a GLEF grant for an additional 3D printer, every student can take home a project at the end of the semester.

  • Reading/Calming Book Boats

    Every elementary school in the district received GLEF funds for reading/calming book boats. We know a safe calm place for our young leaners is important more now than ever. Reading/calming book boats provide a safe atmosphere and quiet space for learning and regulating emotional health. Book Boats are used to give our students their own quiet area for browsing books, skill practice on an iPad, and a space where our learners can go to calm their bodies and get needed sensory input from the boundaries of the Book Boat.

  • PLAYING it Safe

    GLEF grant funding provided elementary music students with a Bluetooth speaker for outside music experiences, as well as new materials like “thunder tubes” and improved triangles.

  • Using Spectrophotometry in the Advanced Sciences

    The Grand Ledge High School Science Department’s “Using Spectrophotometry in the Advanced Sciences” program is designed to integrate the technology of our MacBook Mobile Computer Labs and Apple iPads with advanced laboratory data collection equipment and software. Through the use of PASCO Scientific’s Wireless Spectrometer; AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and Physics students will be able to use college level laboratory instruments in multiple applications across our advanced science curriculum. GLEF provided funding for the program

  • March Book Madness 3.0

    March Book Madness is an bracket-style tournament that matches picture books in one-on-one "games." Students vote for their favorite, ending with a “championship” matchup between the top books. The top vote getter is declared the Wacousta March Book Madness winner. A GLEF grant provided funding for this year’s new round of books.

  • Diversity in Education

    GLEF provided a grant for books and center materials that focus on world cultures.

  • Kahoot Premium + for Distance Learning

    The Kahoot Premium+ platform allows for interactive learning for distance students. The GLEF grant gave students and teachers the ability to use puzzles, polls, and other teacher-created formats in lessons.
